You can buy tickets (one-way and round-trip) in the associated agencies, by the crew and online. The On-board tickets have a 5,00€ surcharge. Reservation required.

 

FACILITAZIONI DI VIAGGIO

Green and Silver Card cost € 26,00 and they are available from all points of sale.

GREEN CARD

It is a nominative card issued to young people under 26 years of age (not completed). The card is valid for up to one year and entitles you to a 20% reduction on the purchase of tickets.

SILVER CARD

It a nominative card issued to persons who have reached 60 years of age. The card is valid for up to one year and entitles you to a 20% reduction on the purchase of tickets.

Line Firenze – Piombino

Florence-Piombino

Busitalia Sita Nord and Tiemme have a bus line from Piombino Marittima and Florence to reach Elba island without a car or to avoid traffic jam. During the summer the bus runs every day. The travel takes about 2h 30′.

 

TIMETABLES

In Florence, bus starts from Sita Autostazione, in Via Santa Caterina da Siena (out of the Santa Maria Novella station on the right). In Piombino the terminus is in PIOMBINO PORTO.

The bus from Florence, arrived in Piombino, goes first at the harbour and then at the station.

Reservations can be made online by credit card (on the site Busweb) or at authorized sales points (ticket offices in Florence and Piombino).

You can buy the ticket on board without surcharge.

Cost of the ticket € 13.00, reduced € 9.00.

Option to buy the ticket on board without surcharge:
-for children 2 to 9 years of age – reduced ticket;
-for children up to 2 years – free ticket reservation required.

 

TRANSPORT OF ANIMALS

Little dogs (the animal can be held comfortably in the arm) with a leash and muzzle are allowed with a surcharge of 2€. Allowed also other small animals (birds, cats, hamsters), provided they are in baskets, cages or other suitable containers. Pets must be kept so as not to disturb other passengers or space. In case of overcrowding, the transport of animals (except guide dogs for the blind) may be limited, or excluded, at the discretion of the driver of the car.

Some Sena (Baltour Group) buses pass through Florence (near Florence SMN, Sita bus station in via Santa Caterina da Siena) and Pisa (stop in Via Pietrasantina,  Sena stop).

By Airport

Another solution may be to go to the airport of Pis, where there are more buses to Florence:

  • from Pisa take Red LAM to the airport or the Pisa Mover bus
  • from Pisa Aiport to Florence

2) TRAIN

Pisa Mover

Il nuovo treno, completamente automatico e veloce, sarà il collegamento diretto tra la stazione ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale e Pisa aeroporto San Giusto. Awaiting (opening planned for June 2016) are in use replacement bus Bus PisaMover.
From Pisa Central Station you can reach all destinations of the Italian rail network including the Firenze SMN station.

 

3) CAR

Florence is only 80 km from Pisa. You can choose the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno or the A11 Pisa-Florence both directly connected with the Airport (Pisa Airport Connections)

Pisa Airport

Pisa-San Giusto Airport, formerly Galileo Galilei, is the main airport in Tuscany. The airport had its own railway station but now this is closed for renovation. At the moment buses make connections.

Pisa Airport to Pisa centre

Red Lam

The CPT (Compagnia Pisana Trasporti) connects the Airport to Pisa’s city centre every 10 minutes via Red LAM line. Main stops of the Red LAM Line are: Pisa Central Station, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Riversides (4 stops), Santa Chiara Hospital.

You can buy tickets (1.20 Euros) from the information office in the air terminal or the automatic ticket machine at the bus terminus.
The bus stop is located just outside the Arrivals area.

Pisa Mover

Pisa Mover will be the new automatic train to connect directly the railway station of Pisa Centrale and Pisa airport San Giusto. Waiting activation of the train (planned for June 2016), buses PisaMover are in use.
From Pisa Central Station you can reach all destinations of the Italian rail network including the Firenze SMN station.
The PisaMover Bus service starts at 6 a.m. and stops at 12 p.m, every day, including Sunday and Bank holidays, for each route (Pisa Airport – Pisa Central Station and Pisa Central Station- Pisa Airport). Ticket price is 1,30€ one way. Fares are subject to change. Train tickets sold by Pisa Airport ticket office  will be charged with a commission fee of  € 1,00 (VAT included).

 

Pisa Airport to Florence (S.M. Novella station)

Sena bus company (part of Baltour Group) has some national routes passing through Florence (near Firenze SMN train station, bus station Sita in via Santa Caterina da Siena) and Pisa center (fermata in Via Pietrasantina Parcheggio, fermata Sena) or Pisa Airport .
