Parma is situated on the north of Italy in the region of Emilia-Romagna. So it is easy to reach it from Bologna, Milan, Venice and Turin.

If we are talking about buses, the bus company Baltour offers main connections. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of Baltour or in the ticket offices of the company.   • Bologna – Parma

Baltour connects Bologna and Parma every day. In Bologna buses leave and arrive to the bus terminal, that is situated 200mt. from the train station. The cost is 9 EUR.  The average journey time is one hour.

  • By train

It is also possible to reach Parma by train. The train station of Parma is well connected with the trains from other Italian cities such as Milan, Bologna, Turin, Genova. From Rome and Florence leave direct trains intercity and eurostar.

How to get to Grado

Grado is situated in the north-east of Italy in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is adjacent peninsula of the Adriatic Sea between Venice and Trieste. Grado is called “Isola del Sole” that is ‘Sun Island’ and is well known for its spectaculous beaches. Enough to say that in 2016 its beaches have been awarded Blue Flag Award that recognises the cleanliness of water and beaches as well as good beach infrastructure. Beside this, Grado offers a beautiful city center, lagoonal landscape, terme di Marine di Grado and so on.

Grado is well connected by the public trasport by both extraurban and urban bus  services. However, if you want to reach Grado by train, please note that there is no train station in Grado itself. The nearest train stations are: Cervignano del Friuli (16 Km) and Udine train stations (45 Km). They are connected with Grado with numerous buses.

  • Friuli Venezia Giulia Trieste Ronchi dei Legionari airport – Grado

Trieste airport is situated 18 km from Grado. APT Gorizia offers daily connections between the airport and Grado. There are two lines: line E 01 and  line E 26. One way ticket costs around € 2.70. Tickets can be bought at the airport at the arriving zone.

  • Marco Polo Airport of Venice – Grado

Aiport of Venice is situated 120 Km from Grado. Unfortunately, there are no direct bus connections. First, you need to arrive to the train station of Mestre, using buses of the ATVO bus company. For more information please look here: Venice Marco Polo airport: bus connections.

Then you should take a train that goes to Cervignano del Friuli train station. From there leave many buses that connect directly with Grado. The average journey time is 20 min.

  • Udine – Grado

The bus company Saf offers direct connections between Udine and Grado. The average journey time is one hour. Tickets can be bought in the vending ticket machines, in ticket selling points such as ticket offices, bars, tobacconists or on the bus (with extra charges). APT line E 21 offers connections between Trieste and Grado. In Grado the bus arrives and leaves from the bus terminal in P.zza Carpaccio whilst in Trieste the bus leaves and arrives to the bus terminal  in P.zza Libertà. The average journey time is one hour and a half. .

Also APT offers Marittima Grado-Trieste line from the first of June till the 31st of August that connects Grado (molo Torpediniere) with Trieste (molo Audace). You can buy tickets on the ferry.  One way ticket costs 7 EUR.  The average journey time is one hour and a half. In case of bad weather, buse service will be active.

APT also offers urban connections in  Grado. During the summer the line 37 offers everyday connections every 30 minutes from 6.30 to 19.30.

What is more, turists have an option to use Trenino di Grado that leaves from the bus terminal. Tickets cost 1,25 EUR if they are bought from ticket offices of APT at the bus terminal on P.zza Carpaccio or they cost 2 EUR if they are bought on board. There are two lines, each lasts around 15 minutes.

Brindisi airport: how to get there

Brindisi-Casale airport (also called “Aeroporto del Salento” or “Papola-Casale”) is an important airport in Puglia for provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto.

  • Brindisi airport – Brindisi

Brindisi airport is situated 6 km from the city center of Brindisi. STP – Socetà Trasporti Pubblici  S.p.A, offers line AP that connects Brindisi airport and Brindisi every day. The bus runs every 30 minutes. The bus connects the airport, city center of Brindisi (train stationa and Piazza Capitanerie di Porto) and Costa Moren harbor. The bus operates from 5.30 a.m. (it starts from Piazza Crispi where the train station is) to 23.45.

The ticket costs: € 1,00. If you buy tickets on board, it will cost € 1,50. Tickets ccan be bought at the airport in Libreria Giunti.

CTP S.p.A. Taranto offers connections every day between Taranto and Brindisi airport  from Monday to Saturday excluding holidays. Tickets cost  € 5,50. Tickets can be bought directly on board. In Taranto the bus leaves and arrives to the ex camping parking area that is in front of SARAM/Palamazzola.
