Flixbus is a young bus company established in 2013. At the begining it was a small German start-up, now it is an European leader in the bus transportation. In 2015  the company strated its international expansion by creating domestic lines  in Italy, France, Austria and the Netherlands as well as international lines in Scandinavian countries, Spain, England and Central Europe. In recent years there are around 50 millions of passangers that choose Flixbus. Now (2016) there are 90 destinations and 20 countries that are connected by buses. Flixbus connects Eurpean cities with around 100.000 trips.

The company is well-known for its easy way of tickets booking (APP FlixBus) and for its wide range of connections. What is more, Flixbus offers to its passangers free WI-FI and traceability by GPS.

How to get to Pavia

Pavia

Pavia is situated in the Lombardia region, that is 35 km from Milan. Pavia is a city of art, culture and nature and has a lot to offer. It can be easily reached by both trains and buses from airports of Milan and nearby cities.

  • Milan airport Linate – Pavia

Milano airport Linate is situated 58 km from Pavia. There are 2 options to get there:

1. Autoservizi Botti offers such connections every day. One way tickets cost 15 EUR, two way tickets – 27 EUR. For children, who are less than 12, there are some discounts. The average journey time is 40 minutes.

2. At first, you should arrive to the Stazione Centrale of Milan. For more information: Linate airport: connections. From the train station you can easily reach Pavia by train. The average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost from 4 EUR.

  • Milano Malpensa airport  – Pavia

Milano Malpensa airport is situated 85 km from Pavia. Unfortunately, there are no direct connections with Pavia. At first you should arrive to the Stazione Centrale of Milan. For more information: Malpensa airport: connections. From Milano Stazione Centrale it is possiblie to reach Pavia by train. The average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost from 4 EUR.

  • L’aeroporto Bergamo Orio al Serio – Pavia

Unfortunately there are no direct connections between Bergamo Orio al Serio airport and  Pavia as well. At first, you should arrive to the train station of Bergamo or of Milan. For more information: Bergamo Orio al Serio airport: connections. Then it is possibile to reach Pavia by train.

  • Milan – Pavia

From Milan it is also possible to get to Pavia by bus, not only by train. However, please note, that buses do not live from the Stazione Centrale of Milan but from different bus stops of the city. There are two bus companies that offer direct connections between Milan and Pavia: PMT ed Arfea.

1. PMT offers several bus lines:

a) Line t094: buses leave from Milano Romolo, that is from the bus stop near the metro station Romolo (green line M2) The average journey time is one hour as a bus makes many intermediate stops along the way.

2. Bus company Arfea, in turn, offers only one bus line between Milano Famagosta and Pavia. As  you can see, buses leave from Famagosta, that is from the bus stop near the metro station Famagosta (green line M2). Average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost I biglietti costano circa 4-5 €.

Parma: how to get there

Parma is situated on the north of Italy in the region of Emilia-Romagna. So it is easy to reach it from Bologna, Milan, Venice and Turin.

If we are talking about buses, the bus company Baltour offers main connections. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of Baltour or in the ticket offices of the company. Rimini: how to get there

  • Roma – Rimini

Baltour  offers connections between Roma and Rimini every day, although the bus runs only once per day. In Rome the bus leaves from Tiburtina bus station whilst in Rimini the bus leaves and arrives at the exit 14, Riccione Bar “Il Trovatore”. The average journey time is 10 hours.

From Roma Tiburtina the bus leaves at 03.45 and arrives in Rimini at 09.40. From Rimini the bus leaves at  19.50 and arrives in Rome at  02.00*. One way ticket costs 35 EUR. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of  Baltour.

Shuttle Rimini Bologna airport offers 7 bus connections between Bologna airport and Rimini. The average journey time is one hour and a half.  In Rimini the bus stops in via Fada or at the train station. Baltour also offers connections between Bologna and Rimini every day. The bus runs two times per day. From Bologna the bus leaves at  11.30 and arrives in Rimini at 12.50. The bus also leaves from Bologna at 18.30 and arrives in Rimini at 19.50. At the same time, from Rimini the bus leaves at 09.40 and arrives in Bologna at 11.10. The bus leaves Rimini at  16.45 as well and arrives in Bologna at 18.05*. The ticket costs from 9 EUR.

In Bologna the bus leaves from Terminal Bus, 200 mt. from Bologna train station , whilst in Rimini the bus arrives and leaves from exit A14, Riccione Bar “Il Trovatore”. The tickets can be bought online on the official web site of Baltour.

Ravenna: how to get there

Ravenna is situated in the Italian region Emilia – Romagna. It attracts tourists throughout the world thanks to its both architectural heritage and beaches. Also near Ravenna is situated one of the biggest amusement park of Italy Mirabilandia.

There are several buses that connect Ravenna with other Italian cities.

  • Fiumicino airport – Rome — Ravenna

Buses of the Sulga company provides the connection between Fiumicino airport, Rome and Ravenna every day. At the airport buses leave from Terminal 3, zone of international arrivals whilst in Rome the bus stops near the Tiburtina train station. 

In Rovenna buses leave from Piazzale Aldo Moro, that is situated not far from the train station of Ravenna near the Candiano Channel .

The average journey time is 7 hours. The price depends on where you take a bus. If you take a bus from Tiburtina to Ravenna the price will be € 27,50 for one way ticket and € 45 for two ways ticket.  From Fiumicino airport to Ravenna the price will be  € 32,50  for one way ticket and € 55 for two ways ticket.

The bus company Autostradale connects Milan and Ravenna only during the summer that is from 02 /07 till 04/09/20 16.  The buses leave only on Saturday and Sunday. The price of the ticket depends on the final destination. The average journey time is 6 hours. In Milan to Ravenna buses leave from the bus terminal Lampugnano, that is situated near the same named metro station. In Ravenna, in its turn, buses stop in the area Lidi Sud, that is situated 9 km from Ravenna city, on the beaches of Marina di Ravenna, Lido Adriano and Punta Marina

The bus company Flixbus  offers line 423 Turin-Ravenna-Turin every day. The bus leaves from Turin to Ravenna 2 times per day: at  07:35 and at  16:00. From Ravenna to Turin the bus leaves at 6.30 and at  16.20. The average journey time is 7 hours 35 minutes. In Ravenna buses stop near Pala De Andrè, on the Trieste street 180. In Turin buses stop on Vittorio Emanuele street.

Air Bus

Buses Airbus of the ATM company provide daily connection  Linate Airport – Milano Centrale. One way tickets cost 5 €, two way tickets – 9 € and for children from 0 to 12 cost 2,50 €. The tickets can be bought on board without any additional charges as well as in all authorized tickets selling points and automatic ticket vending machine in the Milan metro. Buses operate from  6:00 a.m. till 24:00 Average time journey is  25 min.

Timetable

  • From Milano Centrale (the bus stops on Piazza Luigi di Savoia): the bus leaves at 6:00, 6:15, then every 30 min till  20:15. After 21:00  buses leave every 30 min till 23:00.
  • From Linate Airport (the bus stops near Arrival zone 6): buses operate from 6:30 a.m. with 30 min time interval till  23:30.

Buses Autostradale provide daily connection Lenate Airport – Milan train station Lambrate – Milan train Station Milano Centrale.

Buses leave every 30 min. Buses  operate from 05.30 a.m. till  22.00. You can buy tickets on board. It is also possible to buy tickets online on the official website of Autostradale. One way ticket costs 5 EUROS, two way ticket costs 9 EUROS, for children from 2 till 12 – 3,EUROS. The journey time is 25 min.
