Palermo Central Train Station


Palermo train station is situated on the Giulio Cesare square just in the middle of the city center.  Every day through the train station pass around 250 trains.

  • Trains

Palermo Central train station offers various trains, operated by Trenitalia. For example, in 2001 Trenitalia has started to use Trinacria express to connect Palermo airport with the Central Train station. The average journey time is just 45 minutes. The price is 5,80 EUR. The first train leaves at 5 in the morning, the last one at – 22. It is possible to buy tickets on the official website of Trentitalia, in the ticket offices or at the travel agencies.

  • Metro

What is more, there is a small metro operated by Trentitalia. There are 3 lines: LINE A: Palermo Central train Station – Airport, LINE B: Notarbartolo-Giachery (only from Monday to Saturday) and line C: Palermo Central train Station -Termini Imerese. Tickets cost 1,50 EUR. Please note that tickets for buses of AMAT company are not valid for the metro.

  • Buses

Close to the train station, is situated the bus stop for AMAT buses. A ticket costs 1,40€. Please note that in Palermo buses often arrive late. There is also a bus for Palermo airport. The bus company Prestia e Comandè offers such connections every day. Average journey time is 50 minutes. One way tickets cost  € 6,30 (€11 – two ways tickets).  Buses operate from 4 a.m. till the midnight. Buses operate every day including holidays. It is possible to buy tickets on the bus, in the ticket offices or on-line on the official website of the company.

Castellammare del Golfo: how to get there


Castellammare del Golfo is situated in Sicily, in the province of  Trapani. Castellammare del Golfo with its clean and sparkling sea, large and sandy beaches, delicious food and true sicilian cordial hospitality makes it a place worth seeing. From 2 airports of Sicily: Airport of Palermo Punta Raisi and Airport of Trapani Birgi  it takes only 2 hours to get there.

Palermo airport is situated 50 km from Castellammare.

1. Autersevizi Russo 

Firstly,you need to arrive from Palermo airport to Palermo. For more indications please refer here: Palermo airport: connections. Then in Palermo you can take a bus of Autersevizi Russo bus company that offers direct bus connections every day with Castellammare during the summer. Average journey time is one hour and a half. One way ticket costs 6,40 EUR.

* Autersevizi Russo higly recommends that passengers who are going from Palermo, to get to the bus at the Bus Terminal in Piazza Cairoli (Stallo 4) because at the next stops in Palermo there can be no free places on the bus due to the elevate number of passengers at this time.

Trapani airport Birgi is situated 59 km from Castellammare.

1. AST- Azienda Siciliana Trasporti

In order to reach Castellammare from Trapani airport  you can take a bus of AST bus company. The bus runs only once a day. Average journey time is 2 hours. Please note that the bus operates only on working days (Minday to Saturday).

2. Sicildriver, bus novetta

Sicildriver offers Taxi e Transfer collective service, however the cost is rather high.  One way ticket per person costs from 20 to 25 EUR (if there are more than 4 people) or from 75 to 90 EUR if the number of passengers is lower than 4. Cuffaro Tours srl  offers daily connection between Palermo and Agrigento. The average journey time is 2 hours. One way ticket costs 9,00 EUR, two way – 14,20 EUR. Tickets can be bought on the bus. Palermo Airport bus connections

Palermo Airport that is named Falcone–Borsellino Airport is located at Punta Raisi 35 km from Palermo city. The airport is considered to be the third biggest airport in the south of Italy after Catania and Napols.

The airport connects both international and domestic flights with the main Italian cities : Roma, Milano, Napoli, Bologna, Torino, Venezia, Bergamo, Pisa, Treviso, Verona and with islands of Lampedusa and Pantelleria.

If you don’t have your own car it is possible to reach the airport by bus or by train Trinacria Express

The Trinacria Express connects Palermo Centrale station with Palermo Airport  Punta Raisi “Falcone Borsellino”. The tickets cost around 5.80 EURO. It is possible to buy tickets on the official website of  Trenitalia, in travel agencies and in ticket offices.


There are also several buses that connect Palermo Airport with different cities of Sicily.

Buses leave every 30 min. Tickets can be bought online, in the ticket offices and on the bus. In Palermo the bus stops on Piazza Giulio Cesare.

  • Palermo airport – Trapani


Buses of the SEGESTA Autoline  company connect Trapani and Palermo airport every day, including holidays. Tickets cost 9 EURO. The average journey time is 10 min.

From Trapani the bus leaves from Terminal Porto, via Amm.Staiti,13  at  07.45, 10.45, 13.45, 16.45. The bus arrives at Palermo airport at 08.55, 11.55, 14.55,17.55 accordingly.

From Palermo airport the bus leave at  9.30, 12,30, 15.30 and 19.30. the bus arrives in Trapani at 10.40, 13,40, 16.40 and  20.40 accordingly.

  • Palermo airport – Porto Empedocle and Agrigento.

Buses of  Autolinee Sal Licata company connect Palermo airport with Porto Empedocle and Agrigento. The ticket costs 12 EURO. Tickets can be bought in the ticket office, on the bus and in authorised ticket selling points. Buses do not operate on Sunday and during  holidays.

  • Palermo Airport- Menfi, Sciacca and Ribera.

Bus company Autolinee Gallo offer connection between Palermo airport and cities Menfi, Sciacca and Ribera. Tickets can be bought online or in the ticket offices.
