Potenza: how to get there from Tuscany

Potenza is situated in Basilicata region. Because of its geographical position, Potenza has a limited transport system. There are 2 main bus companies that connect Potenza with other Italian cities: bus company autolinee Liscio and bus company autolinee Marozzi. In this article we are going to talk about bus company autolinee Marozzi that connects Tuscany with Potenza.

  • Pisa, Siena, Firenze – Potenza

To connect Potenza with Tuscany, the bus company Marozzi offers night buses. Please note that it takes some time to get to Tuscany from Potenza. In Potenza buses leave and arrive at the bus terminal in Viale del Basento. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of Marozzi or in the ticket offices. 1. Pisa – Potenza

In Pisa buses leave and arrive from the bus station in via Pietrasantina. Average journey time is 10 hours. The bus also stops in Florence (Piazzale Montelungo (bin.16)) and in Siena (P.zza Rosselli (train station)). One way ticket costs 53 EUR, two way tickets – 94 EUR.

From Pisa buses leave at 20.25 and arrive in Potenza at 06.45 a.m.

From Potenza buses leave at 23.59 and arrive to Pisa at 10.20 a m.

2. Florence – Potenze

The bus company Marozzi, as was mentioned before, connects Florence and Potenza. In Florence buses leave and arrive to Piazzale Montelungo (bin.16). Average journey time is 8 hours. One way ticket costs 47 EUR, two way tickets – 83 EUR.

From Florence the bus leaves at 22.45 and arrives in Potenza at 06.45 a.m.

From Potenza the bus leaves at 23.59 and arrives in Florence at 08.00 a.m.

3. Siena – Potenza

Buses of the bus company Marozzi also connect Siena and PotenzaIn Siena buses stop in Piazza Rosselli (Siena train station). The average journey time is 6 hours 45 minutes. One way tickets cost 41.50 EUR, two ways – – 73.50 EUR.

Milan to Rome bus and train

To arrive to Milan from Rome and vice versa it is possible to use both a bus and a train.

  • Bus

1. Baltour, the bus company of Italy offers connections between Rome and Milan and vice versa every day. Buses run 6 times per day. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of Baltour or in the ticket offices of the company. Tickets cost from 15 EUR. Average journey time is 8 hours. There are both direct and indirect buses from Rome to Milan.

In Rome buses leave and arrive to Tiburtina, whilst in Milan – train station/metro station Rogoredo – LATO ANAS (Rogoredo is a metro station of the metro line M3) or to the bus station  LAMPUGNANO (Lampugnano is a metro station of the metro line M1).

05.00 a.m. Metro Rogoredo or Lampugnano – 13.00 Tiburtina (direct)

07.30 a.m. Metro Rogoredo or Lampugnano – 17.20 Tiburtina (1 change in Bologna)

2. Flixbus also connects Milan and Rome every day. Buses run 12 times per day. Tickets can be bought online on the official website of Flixbus. Tickets cost from 15,50 EUR. Average journey time is 9 hours. There are only direct buses.

In Rome  buses arrive and leave from Tiburtina, whilst in Milan – from the train station/metro  Rogoredo – LATO ANAS  (Rogoredo is a metro station of the metro line M3) or from the metro San Donato (San Donato is a metro station of the metro line M1).

To get to Milan from Rome or vice versa it is possible to use trains as well. It is the most rapid but at the same time the most expensive way to travel between two cities.  There are 38 trains each day that connect Roma Termini and Milano Centrale.   • Florence – Perugia

1. Buses of Società Sena (Gruppo Baltour) offers daily connections between Florence and Perugia. Buses run two times from Florence and 3 – from Perugia. The price is from 11 EUR. Please note that teh bus stops are different, depending on what time the bus arrives/departures.

Timetable (updated 31.08.16):*

From Florence airport a bus leaves at  17.00 and at 20.00. At 17.00 a bus leaves from the bus stop of  SITA-Via S.Caterina Siena and arrives in Perugia at 19.10 (train station Fontivegge). At 20.00 a bus leaves from Loc.Bottai, via Cassia Fronte Bar la Certosa and arrives in Perugia at 21.50 (train station Fontivegge).

From Perugia  a bus leaves at  04.30 a.m, 07.30 a.m  e 10.30 a.m. At 04.30 a.m a bus leaves Fontivegge train station and arrives in Florence at 06.45 a.m, (SITA-Via S.Caterina Siena ). At 07.30 a.m  a bus leaves from Fontivegge train station and from piazza Pertigiani and arrives in Florence at 09.30 a.m (Loc.Bottai, via Cassia Fronte Bar la Certosa). At last, a bus leaves at 10.30 a.m. from Fontivegge train station and arrives in Florence at 12.40 p.m. (SITA-Via S.Caterina Siena )
