TIC – Ticket Integrato Campania


Since 1st January 2015 a new tariff system came into force about Campania.

  • Corporate Tickets: each company has its own tickets and subscriptions; they can be used on any transport of that single company;
  • Integrated Tickets: UNICOCAMPANIA and UNICOCOSTIERA are replaced by the TIC, Integrated Ticket Campania, which will allow you to use any means, even if belonging to different companies;
  • one-way ticket: it allows (the user) to one single journey on a single line of a single company;
  • weekly ticket: the user can make an unlimited number of trips during the time span of a week.

Circumvesuviana Naples Sorrento timetables


Naples-Torre Annunziata-Sorrento is a railway line of Circumvesuviana. It is manages by Ente Autonomo Volturno. More info and other lines here: Circumvesuviana.

The line connects Naples to the important archaeological sites of Pompeii (How to reach Pompeii) and Herculaneum and to the seaside resorts of the Sorrento peninsula. The busiest stations are those of Pompeii, Vico Equense, Castellammare di Stabia, Via Nocera and Torre Annunziata Oplonti. The last one is an important interchange station with the Naples-Pompei-Poggiomarino.

How to reach Pompeii – travel guide

Travel guide to reach Pompeii.

In 1997 Pompeii was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage together with the Archaeological site of Herculaneum and Oplonti.

The city of Pompeii and the archaeological site Pompeii excavations (Villa dei Misteri) are away about two kilometers.

The entrance to the archaeological sites are located in Piazza Anfiteatro e a Porta Marina.

From Capodichino airport you can reach directly Pompei with the bus service SORRENTO – NAPLES AIRPORT of company “Curreri Viaggi“. The cost is 10 euro.

From Capodichino airport you can reach Pompeii also going from Naples city. To do this you need to take a bus Alibus from the airport to Napoli Piazza Garibaldi and take the Circumvesuviana direction Poggiomarino (and you should stop at Pompeii) or the direction of Sorrento (stop Pompeii Villa of the Mysteries for those who want to get off near the second entrance of the excavations and distant from the city center about two kilometers, a 20 minute walk).

Train to Pompeii

  • National railway Trenitalia: the Pompeii station is located on the Naples-Salerno, in the city center.
  • EAV – CircumvesuvianaEAV company handles Sorrento Pompei connections both by bus and by train (Circumvesuviana).  Train station Pompei Scavi-Villa dei Misteri is placed on the railway Circumvesuviana “Torre Annunziata-Sorrento”. Its name derives from the proximity of the archaeological excavations of the Roman city of Pompeii, and in particular the Villa of the Mysteries.

Circumvesuviana timetables and rates


Circumvesuviana is a railway operating services in the East of the Naples metropolitan area. It is managed by EAV Ente Autonomo Volturno. The Circumvesuviana railway service covers a wide catchment area of over 2 million people, distributed in 47 municipalities, including Scafati, San Valentino Torio and Sarno in the province of Salerno and Avella and Baiano in the province of Avellino. The network forms an important commercial artery, and provides services to the important tourist destinations of Pompeii (How to reach Pompeii) and Herculaneum (How to reach Herculaneum).

All routes start from the Napoli Porta Nolana terminus near the Porta Nolana, and pass through Napoli Garibaldi station before splitting into several branches to towns in the province. A journey along the entirety of the longest route, the 47 km (29 min) from Naples to Sorrento, takes about one hour.
