How to get to Pavia

Pavia

Pavia is situated in the Lombardia region, that is 35 km from Milan. Pavia is a city of art, culture and nature and has a lot to offer. It can be easily reached by both trains and buses from airports of Milan and nearby cities.

  • Milan airport Linate – Pavia

Milano airport Linate is situated 58 km from Pavia. There are 2 options to get there:

1. Autoservizi Botti offers such connections every day. One way tickets cost 15 EUR, two way tickets – 27 EUR. For children, who are less than 12, there are some discounts. The average journey time is 40 minutes.

2. At first, you should arrive to the Stazione Centrale of Milan. For more information: Linate airport: connections. From the train station you can easily reach Pavia by train. The average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost from 4 EUR.

  • Milano Malpensa airport  – Pavia

Milano Malpensa airport is situated 85 km from Pavia. Unfortunately, there are no direct connections with Pavia. At first you should arrive to the Stazione Centrale of Milan. For more information: Malpensa airport: connections. From Milano Stazione Centrale it is possiblie to reach Pavia by train. The average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost from 4 EUR.

  • L’aeroporto Bergamo Orio al Serio – Pavia

Unfortunately there are no direct connections between Bergamo Orio al Serio airport and  Pavia as well. At first, you should arrive to the train station of Bergamo or of Milan. For more information: Bergamo Orio al Serio airport: connections. Then it is possibile to reach Pavia by train.

  • Milan – Pavia

From Milan it is also possible to get to Pavia by bus, not only by train. However, please note, that buses do not live from the Stazione Centrale of Milan but from different bus stops of the city. There are two bus companies that offer direct connections between Milan and Pavia: PMT ed Arfea.

1. PMT offers several bus lines:

a) Line t094: buses leave from Milano Romolo, that is from the bus stop near the metro station Romolo (green line M2) The average journey time is one hour as a bus makes many intermediate stops along the way.

b) Line t172: buses leave from Milano, via Vittadini.

c) Line t175: buses leave from Famagosta, that is from the bus stop near the metro station Famagosta (green line M2)

2. Bus company Arfea, in turn, offers only one bus line between Milano Famagosta and Pavia. As  you can see, buses leave from Famagosta, that is from the bus stop near the metro station Famagosta (green line M2). Average journey time is 30 minutes. Tickets cost I biglietti costano circa 4-5 €.

Linate Airport Milan connections

Linate Airport  is situated just within 7 km from Milan. It’s easy to reach both by car or by public transport.

In this article you can find the information about the bus connections to/from  Linate Airport and Milan train station Milano Centrale, EXPO/FIERA MILANO CITY , Malpensa Airport and Monza.

  • Train Station Milano Centrale – Linate Airport

Air Bus

Buses Airbus of the ATM company provide daily connection  Linate Airport – Milano Centrale. One way tickets cost 5 €, two way tickets – 9 € and for children from 0 to 12 cost 2,50 €. The tickets can be bought on board without any additional charges as well as in all authorized tickets selling points and automatic ticket vending machine in the Milan metro. Buses operate from  6:00 a.m. till 24:00 Average time journey is  25 min.

Timetable

  • From Milano Centrale (the bus stops on Piazza Luigi di Savoia): the bus leaves at 6:00, 6:15, then every 30 min till  20:15. After 21:00  buses leave every 30 min till 23:00.
  • From Linate Airport (the bus stops near Arrival zone 6): buses operate from 6:30 a.m. with 30 min time interval till  23:30.

The bus also make one stop during this itinerary:

  • Direction Linate: P.le Dateo, at the corner with via Uberti
  • Direction Milano Centrale:  P.le Dateo, after via Poma in front of  civico n° 6

Autostradale

Buses Autostradale provide daily connection Lenate Airport – Milan train station Lambrate – Milan train Station Milano Centrale.

Buses leave every 30 min. Buses  operate from 05.30 a.m. till  22.00. You can buy tickets on board. It is also possible to buy tickets online on the official website of Autostradale. One way ticket costs 5 EUROS, two way ticket costs 9 EUROS, for children from 2 till 12 – 3,EUROS. The journey time is 25 min.

Buses 73  that are managed by ATM provide daily connection between Lenate Airport and Piazza San Babila in Malian, metro station of the same name, line M1. Buses operate from 05.35 till 00.37. Tickets cost 1,5 EUROS.

Malpensa shuttle

These buses provide the connection between Linate Airport and Fiera Milano City only during exhibitions. Tickets cost 10 EUROS. Tickets can be bought on board.

Air Pullman buses provide daily connection between Malpensa Airport and Linate Airport. Average journey time is one hour and a half.  Tickets can be bought on board.

From Linate buses leave at  09.30 – 11.15 – 13.40 — 15.30 — 16.30. Buses arrive at Malpensa Airport to Terminal 1. Request stop at Terminal 2 is possible.

From Malpensa Airport the bus leaves from Terminal 1 at 09.30 – 11.15 – 13.30 — 15.15 — 18.20
From Terminal  2: 09.40 – 11.25 – 13.40 — 15.25 — 18.30

The first departure from Milan Central Station is set at 03:45, the last at 00:15.

The first departure from Malpensa terminal 1 and 2 are set: the first is at 05:00 and the second is at 5:10. The last departure from Malpensa terminal  1 is at 01.20 and the last one is at 1.30.

The company connects Malpensa Airport to Milan Central Station.  The rides run every 20-30 minutes. The service is provided daily, including holidays. The ride lasts about 55 minutes and cost € 8.00 for this single ticket and € 14.00 for the return ticket, while children, aged from 2 to 12, are charged € 5.00 each way. Children under 4 – free.

The first ride from Milan Central Station is set at 03:50 and the last at 21:55.

The buses  from Malpensa,  T1 and T2, leave the first  at 05:05 and the last at 00:10.

  • SADEM

Also the bus company SADEM connects Malpensa Airport to Turin.

The service is provided daily, including holidays  except of 25th of December.One way ticket cost 22 EUR. The tickets should be bought beforehand on their official website or in the points of sales.
